Image Description

Adenosarcoma contains a malignant stromal component and a benign epithelial component which may be normal or hyperplastic. The stromal cells may show cytologic atypia, periglandular cuffing, and increased mitotic activity. The stromal component often forms papillary/polypoid projections that may fill up the endometrial cavity. Note the resemblance to phyllodes tumor of the breast.
