Image Description
Macroscopic Appearance in Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease (ADPKD): The kidney is massively enlarged but retains its reniform shape. The cut surface shows variably-sized cysts, ranging in size from < 0.5 cm to > 6 cm, separated by scant amount of renal parenchyma. This is an autopsy photograph of an ADPKD kidney from an adult male with renal insufficiency who died of an unrelated cause.
