Image Description
Primary well-differentiated neuroendocrine tumor of the kidney: The morphologic features are similar to well-differentiated neuroendocrine tumors seen at other locations. They are composed of a uniform population of tumor cells with round to oval nuclei with minimal or no pleomorphism. Nuclear chromatin is finely dispersed with salt and pepper look. Nucleoli are inconspicuous. Mitotic activity is usually less than 2 mitotic figures/10 HPF. Necrosis is uncommon.
