Intramuscular Hemangioma
Image Description
The capillary-sized vessels are lined by plump endothelial cells. The main differential diagnostic consideration is angiosarcoma. Angiosarcomas of skeletal muscle are rare, show freely anastomosing channels and display nuclear pleomorphism and hyperchromasia. The treatment of intramuscular hemangiomas is complete excision. Recurrences develop in about one-fifth of cases.
