Myxoid Liposarcoma, High-Grade
Image Description
Myxoid Liposarcoma, High-Grade (Round Cell LPS): The tumor cells are larger, primitive-appearing with a high nucleus/cytoplasm ratio, a prominent nucleolus and scant cytoplasm, imparting a basophilic appearance. They are arranged back-to-back in compact sheets with a small amount of intervening myxoid stroma. Pure round cell liposarcomas may be difficult to diagnose as liposarcoma, unless lipoblasts are present. Diagnosis may require confirmination of FUS-DDIT3 fusion (most often) or EWSR1-DDIT3 fusion (rare).
