Image Description

Mazabraud syndrome consists of fibrous dysplasia (usually polyostotic form) with multiple intramuscular myxomas affecting the same anatomical region.

Case history: 40 y/o male with hip pain. No history of trauma. MRI scan (Axial T1 with contrast + fat saturation) showed multiple discrete intramuscular masses which demonstrated heterogeneous enhancement following contrast administration. The largest of these lesions was within the vastus medialis. The findings were consistent with intramuscular myxomas. Case courtesy of Dr Matt Skalski, Radiopaedia.org. From the case rID: 37966
