Chronic Tophaceous Gout : Gross Pathology
Image Description
Involvement of olecranon bursa in tophaceous gout. The image shows nodular, yellow-white chalky deposits lining the inner surface of the sac. Olecranon bursa is quite commonly involved in tophaceous gout because of the tendency of monosodium urate crystals to deposit in superficial tissues with low temperature.
