Chordoma : Morphology
Image Description
Chordoma - Morphology: The conventional chordoma has lobular growth pattern with thin fibrous septa dividing the lobules. The lobules are composed of large epithelioid or vacuolated cells arranged in cohesive clusters, nests, or cords in a background of abundant basophilic myxoid matrix.
The example shown here did not have much myxoid matrix. This large sacrococcygeal tumor was discovered in a 59 y/o male who presented with bowel and urinary incontinence.
