Image Description

Microscopic Features of Hyaline-Vascular Castleman Disease (HVCD) (continued): HVCD is characterized by numerous small, regressively transformed germinal centers surrounded by an expanded mantle zone and a vascular proliferation in the interfollicular region.

The germinal centers have hyalinized cores. Blood vessels penetrate the germinal center at right angles, giving it a "lollipop" appearance. The mantle zone is expanded and consists of several concentric layers of lymphocytes around the follicles, creating an onion-skin appearance.
