Higher magnification shows the thick, eosinophilic bundles of homogenized collagen. The dilated vessels embedded in the areas of sclerosis manifest clinically as telangiectasias. Long-standing lesions in vulva may be associated with squamous cell carcinoma in 3-4% of cases
