Image Description

Benign elongated smooth muscle cells with bland nuclear features in a myxoid background are characteristic of myxoid leiomyoma. The main differential diagnoses are hydropic degeneration and myxoid leiomyosarcoma. The latter has an infiltrative growth pattern into the myometrium and displays conventional features of malignancy (atypia and high mitotic count).
