Image Description

Epithelioid leiomyomas are benign smooth muscle tumors that occur in the uterus and have the same histologic appearance as in other sites in the body. The smooth muscle cells are round or polygonal with eosinophilic or clear cytoplasm, typically arranged in sheets, nests or long cords. Mixtures of epithelioid, clear cells and plexiform patterns occur frequently enough to suggest that they represent variants of a single entity.
