Differential Diagnosis of Adult Granulosa Cell Tumor (GCT) of Ovary: continued from prev. image

Endometrioid Carcinoma (EC): Well-differentiated and microglandular pattern in EC can resemble microfollicular, trabecular, and insular patterns of adult GCT. In addition, EC can also show grooved nuclei. Features favoring EC include presence of more typical foci with squamous or mucinous differentiation, association of endometriosis, nuclear pleomorphism, and high mitotic activity. EC is negative for alpha-inhibin and calretinin and strongly positive for EMA and cytokeratin.
