Image Description

Architectural Patterns in Adult Granulosa Cell Tumor of the Ovary: Microfollicular is the most characteristic and easily recognized architectural pattern and is seen in 30-50% of cases. Its hallmark is rosette-like structures that resemble Call-Exner bodies of the Graafian follicle. They consist of small round spaces filled with eosinophilic cellular debris or hyalinized basement membrane material surrounded by multiple layers of granulosa cells. Call-Exner bodies can sometimes be recognized in fine needle aspirates.
