This is a specimen of ovarian serous surface papillary carcinoma which grows predominantly on the surface of the ovary. There is minimal/absent parenchymal invasion as well as no intracystic growth. Microscopically, the tumor had abundant psammoma bodies. Note the bright yellow corpus luteum. The patient was a 44 y/o female. Image copyright: pathorama.ch.
