Metastases from Colonic Adenocarcinoma
Image Description
Colonic adenocarcinomas that spread to the ovaries are usually advanced (Dukes Stage B or C), but may be small or even occult. The metastatic foci tend to be well-differentiated and associated with mucin production, necrosis and hemorrhage. Some cases may even show luteinization of the ovarian stroma leading to masculinization.
