The stroma of polypoid fronds is edematous and contains chronic inflammatory infiltrate. The main diferential diagnosis is with papillary urothelial neoplasm of low malignant potential and low-grade papillary urothelial carcinoma, both of which contain narrow based, delicate papillary fronds with well-defined fibrovascular cores.
