Muscularis Propria Invasion - pT2

Muscularis propria invasion is frequently associated with a lack of desmoplastic stromal response (as seen here). In some cases, it is difficult to ascertain whether the smooth muscle bundles invaded by the tumor represent muscularis mucosa or muscularis propria. In such situations, it is appropriate to express uncertainty in a comment in the pathology report and recommend resampling.
