Image Description

Villous adenomas of bladder are morphologically similar to those arising in the intestinal tract. The image shows a villous adenoma arising in the urachus near the dome. The right one-third of this cystic lesion is lined by urothelium; the remainder is lined by intestinal type epithelium with goblet cells. Villous adenomas can also originate in metaplastic epithelium, usually near trigone.
