Image Description
Testicular lymphomas penetrate through tunica albuginea and involve extratesticular structures in about 50% of cases. Epididymis is involved in the majority of cases. Rare cases show spermatic cord infiltration.
This radical orchiectomy specimen shows a diffuse large B-cell lymphoma in an elderly male. There is bulky tumor mass encasing the testis. The testicular parenchyma is diffusely infiltrated as well by the tumor and appears lighter than usual in color. There is a small focus of necrosis (bright yellow-white area). Note the prominent involvement of spermatic cord (top of the image) which is thickened to almost 4 cm diameter.
