Image Description

Gross Pathology of Mixed Germ Cell Tumors (MGCTs): The macroscopic appearance is heterogenous and reflects the components present. Solid, uniform white, pink-tan or grey areas represent seminoma. Non-seminomatous components often show necrosis, hemorrhage, and cystic change. Soft, fleshy, yellow-tan, encephaloid (brain-like) or hemorrhagic areas correspond to foci of immature teratoma. Pigmented areas may be seen. Image copyright: pathorama.ch
