Image Description

Post-pubertal teratoma of the testis with radiologic-pathologic correlation. Color doppler ultrasound shows a well-defined highly vascular tumor in the upper pole of the testis.

The findings in the orchiectomy specimen nicely correlate with the ultrasound appearance. The solid and cystic mass in the upper pole of the testis turned out to be a mixed germ cell tumor consisting of teratoma (80%), embryonal carcinoma (15%) and yolk sac tumor (5%).
