Image Description
This patient presented with rising serum PSA levels (on several consecutive visits) 6 years following external beam radiation therapy for prostate cancer. The biopsy shows recurrent tumor with marked radiation effect. The radiation effect may be negligible or even totally absent in some cases. Gleason grading is done in recurrent tumors only if they show no radiation effect, otherwise no grade is assigned.
