Image Description
This medium power view is the typical appearance of clear cell renal cell carcinoma, the most common type of renal cell carcinoma. This image demonstrates cords and nests of clear cells with an elaborate capillary network. The most commonly seen pattern of growth is solid. However, areas with tubular, papillary, and cystic architecture may also be seen. The background stroma is usually scant and nondescript.
