Image Description

Classic Morphologic Pattern in Clear Cell Sarcoma of Kidney: The tumor cells are ovoid, epithelioid, or spindled and have uniform nuclei with fine chromatin and inconspicuous nucleoli. Mitotic figures may be seen but are not abundant. Despite the tumor name, clear cytoplasm is seen in only about 20% of cases. The clear cell appearance is created by optically clear mucopolysaccharide matrix in between tumor cells.
