Glomus Tumor of Kidney: Glomus tumors are strongly positive for smooth muscle actin and vimentin (shown here) and variably positivity for desmin and h-caldesmon. Laminin and type IV collagen immunostains highlight the basal lamina surrounding individual cells or groups of cells. A small percentage of cases have BRAF mutations and express BRAFv600E. Glomus tumors lack expression of keratins, EMA, CEA, and S-100 protein.
