Image Description
Primary Angiosarcoma of Kidney: This photomicrograph shows a high-grade renal angiosarcoma with spindle cell morphology. The patient was an elderly male who presented with hip pain unrelated to the tumor and was found incidentally to have a renal mass on imaging studies. The prognosis of renal angiosarcoma is poor. Most patients present with metastases. Mean survival time is about 8 months. Patients with smaller tumors (< 5 cm) have a more favorable prognosis.
