Some angiomyolipomas show numerous epithelioid cells with clear or eosinophilic cytoplasm and a large vesicular nucleus. The exact percentage of epithelioid cells required to designate the tumor as epithelioid variant has not been decided but is generally in the 50% to 80% range. This low power view shows sheets of epithelioid cells in the right half.
