Image Description

Gallbladder - High-grade Dysplasia (HGD): The columnar cells show marked nuclear enlargement and hyperchromasia, high N:C ratio, nuclear irregularity, pseudostratification and loss of polarity. Mitotic activity is high and atypical mitoses are present. HGD is frequently associated with invasive carcinoma; therefore, when HGD is discovered in a cholecystectomy, total sampling is performed to rule out any invasive component.
