Image Description

Cancer stage at diagnosis strongly influences treatment options and ultimately survival. Tumors confined to the primary site are localized (84% of cases). When regional lymph nodes are involved, the stage is regional (9%). When distant metastases are discovered at the time of diagnosis, the stage is distant (4%). About 3% of cases remain unstaged.
