Comments:
Eczema Herpeticum: This is a distinctive cutaneous eruption most commonly caused by HSV1 in patients with atopic dermatitis. Other viruses (HSV2, coxsackievirus A16, or vaccinia virus) and other dermatoses (Darier disease, thermal burns, Hailey-Hailey disease, icthyosis vulgaris, and cutaneous T-cell lymphomas) can also give rise to a similar condition. Note the discrete as well as confluent crusted erosions on an erythematous base involving the entire face.
