Herpetic Vulvovaginitis

Comments:
HSV Vulvovaginitis: The lesions appear throughout the lower genital tract and can involve cervix. The histologic findings depend upon the stage of the disease. The image shows advanced lesion with ulceration and necrosis. There is destruction of stroma, glands and blood vessels with a dense acute and chronic inflammatory infiltrate. Multinucleated cells with characteristic ground glass nuclei are seen in the lower right.
