Malignant Mixed Mullerian Tumor (Carcinosarcoma)

Topic: Mixed Epithelial-Mesenchymal Tumors

Category: Uterus

slide 15 of 24

Comments:
MMMT contains high-grade malignant stromal and epithelial components arranged in a biphasic pattern as seen in this image. The biphasic pattern may be less obvious in some cases. In rare cases, both malignant components are low-grade. The usual patient is a post-menopausal woman, although rarely it may occur in younger women and even in children.   return to Mixed Epithelial-Mesenchymal Tumors
