Luteomas of Pregnancy

Topic: Follicular/Stromal Lesions of Ovary

Category: Ovary

slide 3 of 8

Comments:
The differential diagnosis of pregnancy luteoma includes Lipid Cell Tumor and Luteinized Thecoma. The image shown here bears strong resemblance to a Lipid Cell Tumor. The cells in luteomas of pregnancy may have vacuolated cytoplasm but little or no demonstrable lipid. Lipid Cell Tumors, on the other hand, have abundant intracytoplasmic lipid.   return to Follicular/Stromal Lesions of Ovary
