Granular Cell Tumor of CBD

Granular cell tumor (GCT) is a benign neural tumor composed of polygonal cells with abundant granular eosinophilic cytoplasm. A detailed discussion of GCT is here. They present as small painless nodules in the dermis, subcutis, or mucosal surfaces. Less common sites include deep soft tissues and visceral organs. Amongst visceral organs, the distal common bile duct is a frequently involved site. GCT is the most common non-epithelial tumor of extrahepatic bile ducts. It may be multicentric.
