Cholesterol Polyps

Cholesterol Polyps: In some cases of cholesterolosis, the lipid deposits in the lamina propria become quite large and polypoid and protrude into the gallbladder lumen (cholesterol polyps or polypoid cholesterolosis). They have broccoli-like shape on a thin stalk. They range from 2 to 10 mm in size and may be detected on imaging studies. Several cholesterol polyps are seen in this specimen.
