Treatment: Gallbladder hydrops in children is reversible and may resolve spontaneously. In adults, the treatment of choice in symptomatic cases is cholecystectomy.

This case of hydrops was caused by an impacted stone in the cystic duct. See numerous gallstones in the opened specimen in the next two images.
