Comments:
Introduction: Cholesterolosis (or cholesterosis) is a common, non-neoplastic mucosal alteration in the gallbladder that is characterized by accumulation of lipid-laden macrophages in the mucosa. It is asymptomatic and commonly found incidentally in cholecystectomy or autopsy specimens. The presence of small, linear, golden yellow flecks in a background of green or congested gallbladder mucosa creates a strawberry-like appearance.
