Comments:
Adenoviruses usually infect respiratory tract and conjunctiva. In children and immunocompromised individuals (HIV, severe combined immunodeficiency, advanced malignancies, organ transplantation), the infection may spread to involve the liver. Grossly, there is extensive liver necrosis.
