Cavernous hemangiomas are components of several syndromes: Kasabach-Merritt syndrome: Large cavernous hemangioma, usually on an extremity, complicated by thrombocytopenic purpura. Blue rubber bleb nevus syndrome: cavernous hemangiomas of the skin and gastrointestinal tract. Maffucci syndrome: Multiple cavernous hemangiomas and enchondromas.
