Image Description

Epithelioid sarcoma is a tumor of uncertain origin seen most commonly in the 15-35 yr. age group with a male predominance. The main sites of involvement are flexor surfaces of fingers, hands, and forearm. It is the most common sarcoma afflicting the hands and wrists. It has a high risk of local recurrence and metastasis. This amputation specimen shows a recurrent ulcerating tumor at the site of previous thumb amputation.
