Alveolar soft part sarcoma arising in children tends to have a more solid appearance as seen in this case and may be misdiagnosed. Conversely, other malignant tumors such as malignant melanoma and metastatic renal cell carcinoma in adult patients may simulate the alveolar pattern of alveolar soft part sarcoma.
