Image Description

The tumor cells have lightly eosinophilic or clear cytoplasm (due to abundant glycogen), round vesicular nuclei and prominent basophilic nucleoli. Touton-type multinucleated giant cells are present. The tumor lacks significant nuclear pleomorphism and mitotic activity is generally low. Cytoplasmic melanin is present in about 50% of cases but may not be easily appreciated on routine H&E stains.
