Image Description

Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) with Anaplastic Features: Anaplasia in embryonal RMS is defined as large, hyperchromatic nuclei at least three times the size of their neighbors (similar to the definition in Wilms tumor) with or without atypical mitotic figures.

Anaplastic embryonal RMS is rare and may be difficult to distinguish from adult pleomorphic RMS; however, the presence of areas more typical of embryonal RMS as well as cross-striations favor the former diagnosis.
