Image Description

Introduction: Pleomorphic lipomas and spindle cell lipomas have overlapping clinical, histologic, immunohistochemical and cytogenetic features. They are now considered to represent a morphologic continuum of the same benign lipomatous tumor. They should not be confused with atypical lipomatous tumor/well-differentiated liposarcoma.

Like spindle cell lipomas, the most common location for pleomorphic lipomas is subcutaneous tissues in shoulder, upper back, and posterior neck of adults with a predilection for men.. They present as solitary, circumscribed, slow-growing, and painless lesions.
