Lipoblastoma : PLAG1 Breakapart FISH
Image Description
PLAG1 breakapart FISH probe is designed to detect rearrangements in the human PLAG1 gene mapping to chromosome band 8q12.1. The probe can identify translocations of parts of the gene, inversion, its fusion to other genes, as well as deletions and amplifications seen in lipoblastomas, pleomorphic adenomas and other epithelial tumors.
The dual color probe consists of a probe centromeric to PLAG1 labeled with CytoGreen and second probe labeled with CytoOrange telomeric to PLAG1 as shown in the map diagram. The breakapart probe design allows detection of PLAG1 gene rearrangements regardless of the partner gene. More than 20 partner genes have been identified. See result interpretation in the next image.
