Hibernoma : Genomics
Image Description
Genomics: Hibernomas show complex genomic rearrangements involving 11q13-21 region that result in codeletion of tumor suppressor genes MEN1 and AIP. The most common translocation partners are 9q34 and 14q11. This event appears to have a pathogenetic role in hibernomas.
The image shows an admixture of polygonal cells with granular eosinophilic cytoplasm, a few adipocytes with microvacuolated cytoplasm, and numerous univacuolated mature adipocytes (white fat).
