Image Description

Treatment: Keloids do not regress spontaneously and are resected. Up to 75% of cases recur after surgery. Numerous modalities have been used to reduce recurrence rates, including topical steroids, radiation, brachytherapy, laser procedures, cryosurgery, 5-FU, and injecting silicone gel. Prevention is the key. Individuals with history of forming keloids should avoid cosmetic procedures.
