Clinical Features (continued from the previous image): Keloids have been reported to form in the following conditions and circumstances: mechanical trauma (e.g. tattoo, ear piercing, vaccination, cautery, laparotomy, other surgical procedures; even minor trauma such as needle sticks and mosquito bites), inflammation (e.g. acne vulgaris), infections (e.g. following chickenpos), use of isotretinoin, aromatase inhibitor therapy (in breast cancer), and as a paraneoplastic phenomenon.
