Ischemic fasciitis is yet another pseudoneoplastic process related to nodular fasciitis that represents an exaggerated response to ischemic injury. Most often it involves soft tissues over bony prominences. The patient is usually debilitated with limited mobility. The image shows atypical spindle and stellate shaped fibroblasts and myofibroblasts in a collagenous stroma from a case of ischemic fasciitis.
